End of Second Day

Time is flying for the training! Already we have finished the 2nd day. It was a difficult day to organize, with lots of guests, all needing attention and almost no one showing up when they said and talking longer than agreed. Still, the UNVs seemed interested--sometimes they were the reason it went on so long! Hard to get an understanding of how it is going without the language, but faces are smiling now at the end, and people seemed ok during the day. On Sunday, they plan to go to the Outdoor Musuem, and I'll see Lina and Roma and come back for an early evenng. Maybe bring movies:) and popcorn!

The Morning After

Oh no! I talked too much, when they were so tired! But it was so interesting the first day, and they were so excited, even tho many of them had traveled far to get here. It is a great group--already starting to show the feeling of a team. Lots of information--lots lots lots. But it was that or another day! Nina is a great teacher--it was fun to watch her, even in a language I couldn't understand. Zhenya was very organized and gave a lot of needed informaiton. Of curse, Anya was great, as always--very interactive. It is so unfair to have 2 languages here, and be struggling with the 1st one. Someday, it will flow--but will I still have teeth to speak with by then?

The Beginning

Wanderings are both of mind and body. Today, I wandered over to the Tax Academy for our 1st training session for the new project. After arriving, the wanderings now are all internal. How will they like what they learn? Will they be bored? Overwhelmed? Understand what we are hoping for and the change we hope for for youth in Ukraine? Hopefully, they will let us know...and hopefully, it will be fun to be learning together--not just another job. Tonight, we'll know more:)
